Safety is the first thing guests ask about, and the first thing we engineer for. Here is how a FlyDining session is designed to keep every guest secure.
Designed to recognised standards
FlyDining is conceived and designed according to the German safety norm EN 13814 and the international standard ISO 17842-1:2015, which cover the safety of fairground and amusement rides.
A strong structure
- A high-grade metal frame platform with comfortable seats that rotate through a full 180°.
- Every guest is secured with aircraft-standard safety belts.
- Our model pages describe a total weight capacity of eight times the safe load.
- Each unit is engineered to respond to wind and varying weather conditions.
Lifted by a state-of-the-art crane
The structure is suspended by a telescopic crane rated at 200 tons, lifting the table to 50 metres (about 160 feet) and handled by trained operators.
A harnessed, trained crew
The chef and crew in the centre of the table are secured with safety harnesses throughout. Safety officers hold the final say on all safety decisions and can halt a session or carry out an emergency descent whenever needed.
Inspected again and again
- Safety checks before and after each session.
- Weekly trial runs and maintenance.
- A dedicated safety team that reviews the structure and the lifting equipment.
Weather decisions
Operations depend on weather. If conditions are not safe, sessions are postponed or cancelled. Read how this works in our Weather Policy.
Your part in a safe session
- Listen to the crew briefing and keep your harness on.
- Follow the eligibility and health guidelines.
- Leave loose items on the ground.
